Busy over the Easter weekend uploading more videos to our YouTube FilmLab channel http://www.youtube.com/user/FilmLabIreland Send me a note ye if you think anything is missing in the description. Fellow FilmLaber John Loftus was explaining to me that by taking credits off the end of a video people were inclined to watch it in its entirety and thus get a higher hit rate on YouTube’s scoring counter! We will see.
A note about our referencing system: The numbers “0016” etc are the order that the piece was shot in. For example the film with “0001” would be the first film shot for FilmLab. The letters preceding the numerals – “FL” stand for FilmLab produced, commissioned, written, directed etc – any occasion where FilmLab has either had the key responsibilities for producing or it has held the majority of the key artistic or creative roles. When an “A” is added it means that FilmLab had a secondary producing role (for example in the supply of equipment/expertise), a promoting role (as in utilising an artist’s film for a DVD or DVD compilation) or a non creative role in the production of a film. An example of this would be FLA0002 where the film was shot and conceived by Anthony Costine for John Haggis who then supplied it to us for the 2009 Artbeat Summer in the city DVD compilation. Where it can get a mite confusing though is when FilmLab commissions a creative production team such as New Aims Productions to make a video. Because of our collective ethos, In that case, both FilmLab and New Aims can in fact individually and separately claim producing and creative roles.
So there you go.
From all at FilmLab – keep it creative!
